Executive Coaching

Coaching is a powerful process where the coach works on a one-to-one basis with the client to achieve improved and sustainable effectiveness in their lives and careers.

Experience and Qualifications

Janet is an accredited member of the Institute of Leadership and Management, and has an ILM postgraduate level Diploma in Leadership Mentoring and Executive Coaching. She has experience of coaching a large number of public and voluntary sector managers and clinicians.

Janet's Coaching Approach

Janet's approach to coaching is based on a strong belief in the potential of each individual, and she works with her clients to enable them to create and develop effective solutions to achieve their personal goals. Janet's coaching style is honest, non-judgemental, compassionate, challenging and fun. Janet applies the following six key principles of coaching:

  • The client is resourceful
  • The coach's role is to spring loose the client's resourcefulness
  • Coaching addresses the whole person
  • The client sets the agenda
  • The coach and the client are equals
  • Coaching is about change

Feedback on Janet's Coaching

Janet has a natural affinity for coaching based on her value system, which seeks to support and actively help people improve and grow. She is focussed in her approach which, certainly in my case, resulted in change. Janet uses coaching tools and techniques which challenge and help shift you from your comfort zone, and positive affirmations which encourage you to be mindful of your every day experiences. Janet helped me claim my successes and work towards addressing my developmental areas. Most importantly, however, Janet has an obvious enjoyment of what she does that makes the process fun and exciting - so I have always looked forward to the sessions and worked hard on suggested activities in between. I would, and have, recommended her to colleagues and friends...

An NHS acute trust Head of Transformation

Janet has provided professional challenge and supported me to develop my leadership skills. With her encouragement and guidance I have learnt to work effectively with my board and to lead the charity to deliver services as partners in the health community.

A voluntary sector Chief Executive

Janet, I just wanted to say a big 'thank you'; coaching has made a huge difference to the way I work. The opportunity to talk issues through, reflect and consider alternative ways of handling difficult or complex situations has been invaluable, I have learnt much and brought resolution to a number of issues. As a result of coaching I am now much more self aware and confident. You have helped me explore new methods for managing situations relevant to my sphere of work and I now have a set of helpful tools to use in a range of situations. Your strength of character, endless encouragement, understanding and determination to see me succeed have been an energy source for which I cannot thank you enough.
